Please introduce yourself....

Hello, my name is Leah and I live in beautiful Nelson, New Zealand.
I’m and artist and crafter. I like to try new things and to experiment with my creations; however, crocheting is my relaxing therapy, and I always come back to it. I love colours and want to bring colour to everybody’s wardrobe.

Why did you open an Etsy shop?

I love Etsy. It’s a great international community to belong to. I think Etsy can be a good platform to sell online and meet other creative people. Its part of the green revolution and slow living in which I believe is a better future for us and the planet.

How do you promote your designs?

I don’t promote my shop as much as I really want and need. I am active in different ways on Etsy treasuries, teams and circles. I am planning to go to the local markets and inspire offline buyers to become online ones.

Where do you see your brand in 5 years?

At the moment, I’m a full time student doing 3 casual part time jobs; so, in 5 years’ time I plan to be –self-employed.
I want to develop my designs to be more complex and incorporate other recycled materials.
I am also working on creating a new and exciting method of painting with water – watch this space...

So if you love crochet and accessories combine this love and check out a wonderful fresh shop!

Thank you for reading and feel free to comment!
Stay Vogue!

Introducing.... The Art and Found by Olivia Royale

Today I want to introduce to all of you The Art and Found by Olivia Royale.

The illustration for this unique brand is a  wall art.
So if you would like to have your product illustrated, contact me in my shop!

http://www.etsy.com/shop/BaleaRaitzART

Let's talk trendy fashion! Crochet, prints, funky and unique hats....

Please introduce yourself....

Hello, I am Olivia Royale, the designer and creator behind the clothing brand: The Art and Found. I specialize in knitwear and accessories that compliment the new American woman: fearless, independent, creative!

What made you open an Etsy shop and what is your inspiration?

I opened my first Etsy shop in 2010.  I crocheted funky hats and accessories that were all-seasonal, and made from locally bought materials.  I found my inspiration when I lived in California and wanted to be a self-supporting artist.  When  I moved back to the east coast I started selling my creations at farmers markets and festivals and was finally introduced to the wonderful world of Etsy! I love that Etsy gives me the opportunity to sell all around the world. Its lovely to think that someone in Australia or China is wearing one of my designs! This year I have opened a new shop called Whats Olivia Wearing.  More than creating, I love fashion.  My favorite thing is getting dressed in the morning and deciding who I want to be that day.

My new shop reflects more of a style that I want to sell, and the brand of Olivia Royale.  The clothes promote a funky and fearless fashion sense, with a twist on sustainability!

How do you promote your products?

I promote my products through Facebook, Twitter, and a new blog. I am passionate about sharing the personal story behind my products and want to give my customers an experience when buying my stuff.  I think when you buy a product and you know who made it, what they were listening to, or the inspiration behind the piece, you appreciate your purchase so much more and strive to continue shopping in that way.  I think this is where consumerism is heading: an evolution in the way a shopper buys something, and knowing more about where it came from.

What is the idea behind The Art and Found?

The Art and Found is a word I came up with in high school.  I always knew that I wanted to have a store someday.  I thought the term was perfect for the concept of handmade and vintage: my two passions.  I envision The Art and Found as a place to go to when you are Lost.  In times of change, transition, or struggle, fashion can help us reinvent ourselves and boost our self esteem.  The Art and Found will always carry products that will make a person feel unique, strong, and inspired!

Make sure you visit The Art and Found!

Go and give her a like on Facebook! I did!

Where do you see your brand in 5 years?

Right now The Art and Found is just me and my online Etsy shop.  In five years I hope to include other artists as well, and hopefully have the shop I always dreamed about.  I hope the Art and Found becomes  a place for people to come and create, inspire, and purchase wonderful things.

For all you who are on Twitter you can find Olivia here as well!

Introducing.....Tracy's Art by Tracy DeCamp

Today you will be stunned when you see the little treasures in this shop! I want to introduce to all of you a wonderful artist and a new friend to me! Meet Tracy DeCamp from Tracy's Art!
Specially for this interview I illustrate some unique gift tags with Tracy's beautiful necklaces as inspiration! Here you can see Fortune Necklace..... available.... http://www.etsy.com/listing/90381780/55-fortune

Let's talk jewelry....

Please introduce yourself....

Well....my name is Tracy DeCamp. I am 49 years old, mother of 2 teenage boys ( Cameron 17, Kyle 14) and wife to Rick. I live in Bellevue, a suburb on the east side of Seattle, Washington.... in a house on top of Cougar Mountain overlooking Lake Sammamish.

I have always been an artist mostly painting large mixed media oil paintings and pet portraits, but my true love has always been fashion. I studied fashion illustration and design at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond Virginia back in the early 1980s.  After leaving school I freelanced illustration in Maryland, Washington D.C. and Richmond VA for a bit but eventually pursued  my painting full time, showing my work in galleries and on my own.

Why jewelry and what is the inspiration for your designs?

My inspiration comes from color first. Then all the different elements that I find on my journeys begin to speak to me as well. I have always collected vintage clothing, beads, jewelry, pendants, trims, buttons, and all kinds of treasures. I enjoyed making my own designs from the found objects. To me this was the most fun.
Re-working old things and mixing them up with new to create something unique is so very exiting for me. Thus, my necklaces evolved. I can enjoy working on my necklaces all day long and never run out of fresh ideas. I love it! I have finally found what I truly want to spend my time on.

Where else can we find your lovely creations?

I am invited to exhibit and sell my jewelry at our local annual Summer Artwalk in the historic town of Issaquah, Washington the first Friday of the month of May through September starting May 4. At the Artwalk all the shops, restaurants and galleries that line Front Street invite artists to display and sell their work. It is very popular and draws a big crowd. The visitors come to enjoy food, music on the streets, atmosphere and art. So fun!

How do you promote your jewelry?

I also promote my work on my website http://tracysart.com/default.aspx my Facebook http://www.facebook.com/TracyDeCamp and of course my etsy shop http://www.etsy.com/shop/tracydecamp

Where do you see  your brand in 5 years?
My brand in 5 years .... to have my work in my own case at a major high end department store is one wish. It would also be pretty cool if my brand as big enough that I would be able to mass produce some select pieces for a broader market. As for now I am enjoying making my work and selling it on Etsy and at local shops and shows and to my friends. I am enjoying how my business is evolving and connecting with other artists and buying online and in person! I am enjoying the ride!

Introducing....Uma Jewelry

Today I want to introduce to all of you a wonderful brand! Uma Jewelry from Thailand! This wonderful mother daughter team creates one of a kind jewelry pieces!
I was inspired to illustrate this piece by a wonderful photography that I have been given by Diane, one of the team members of this unique shop!

A wall art ready to hang!

Let's talk jewelry...

Please introduce yourself.....

Hi Everyone! How are you? I'm Diane Piroon and I design Elegantly Funky Custom Jewelry with my Mother. Our line is called 'Uma Jewelry' ( I decided to name out collection after my mother, sweet huh). Besides designing jewelry I also freelance photography. Art by Heart!

Why jewelry and what is your inspiration?

I believe that a piece of jewelry can complete an outfit and make women feel stylish, trendy, confident and most importantly even more beautiful then they already are. I've always loved fashion and I know there are lots of ladies who love it as much as I do! Getting dressed is all about having fun. So whether your wearing a corporate suit to work or a little black dress for a night out, jewelry can add that funk and flare. Accessorizing with the right piece of jewelry is the key to make you stand out and make your outfit pop!

How much time do you spend on one design?

It depends on each piece. Some pieces are more complicated so it can be hours, other simple ones can be done in just 30 minutes.

How do you stay on top of the game when it comes to marketing and promoting your creations?

I spend everyday marketing through social media ( twitter, facebook, blogs). I also try to wear my creations everyday to show people what our work is all about. This method works really well!

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

Being more successful doing what I love, which is designing  for Uma Jewelry, doing photography, and also getting my yoga teaching license.
