You will fall in love withe her adorable design on Etsy. Please visit her shop on http://www.etsy.com/shop/myhandmadehappies and discover wonderful cute and adorable accessories all handmade with love in crochet and knit.

Please introduce yourself...

Hello there! I'm Savanah Macaulay, a newly 23 year old with a passion for art and books and a soul nearly as old as my favorite hobby : creating things with yarn especially by knitting and crocheting. I live in an incredible, hundred  years old house with my artist boyfriend and our less artistic ( though more destructive) cat. I have an 8-5, a library card, a huge stash of yarn, and the best life I could ever imagine.

What made you open an Etsy shop?

I've been pretty much always a crafter as well as a knitter and crocheter. Giving homemade gifts, regardless of the occasion ( or lack thereof) has been a constant in my life, but when I realized my friends and families' homes were nearly filled to the max with things I'd made, I knew it was time to extend my gifts to a larger audience. Opening a shop on Etsy allowed me to share my creations, meet a huge array of incredible people and shop owners, as well as ( and best of all) be my own boss!

What is your favorite material to work with and what is your bestseller?

My favorite yarn with which to work is generally acrylic for its ability to take dyes of nearly any color. The brighter and the happier, the better! Acrylic yarn is also very soft and durable, so I know  I'm offering a really great product.

Where else part from Etsy can we purchase your designs?

In addition to my Etsy shop, you can find me and my creations every first Wednesdays in downtown Jacksonville, FL (Heming Plaza) as well as just about any craft show in northern Florida and Southern Georgia. I just love getting out in the sun and actually meeting my customers!

Where do you see your brand in 5 years?

In the next five years, I see Handmade Happies growing to envelope and connect with a much wider audience of happy people like me while keeping the feeling of a local shop which can provide the personal touches you just cannot find in a department store. I see myself devoting all my time to my brand, maybe even with the help of a little mini-me ( or two, or three, or a dozen). Mostly I just see me continuing to use Handmade Happies as way to bring my love of creativity to as many wonderful people as possible.
